5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. Its theoretical and practical orientation favors the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to the course contents.

5.3. Syllabus

The course will address the following topics:

Aging and health

  1. What do we know about health in an aging world? Towards a global response from a public health perspective.
  2. Aging as a process. Active aging. Barriers to achieve active aging in elderly people.
  3. Social and gender inequalities in elderly people.
  4. Socioeconomic factors in mobility and disability.
  5. The Salutogenic model to guide health promotion. The mapping of health assets.

1.- USERS: Multidisciplinary design and interaction methodologies

    • 1.1.- User-centered design: process, bases and metholdology
    • 1.2.- User fit and use cases / cartoon-based description of functionality

2.- TECHNOLOGY: Description of technology and principles.

    • 2.1.- Goals, functions, devices and services
    • 2.2.- Multidisciplinary description of technological systems. Principles
    • 2.3.- Results and sustainability
